Hi, I'm Kenedi Lynch

I recently graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and am currently pursuing an MScR in Infection and Immunity at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine, specifically the Roslin Institute, at The University of Edinburgh in Scotland, United Kingdom! I am also applying this cycle to MD-PhD programs back in the States. As an aspiring physician-scientist with an interest in infectious disease and the immune system's response to it, I am seeking opportunities that will facilitate my eventual career path of fighting to maintain human health one microbe at a time.

My Story

A native of Houston, TX, Kenedi originally graduated Salutatorian from Crosby High School. She recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with her B.S. in Biological Sciences, a minor in Psychology, and many distinctions (including College Honors, Distinguished Communicator, and Distinguished Researcher) at Louisiana State University — which she attended on the prestigious Stamps Scholarship. As a pre-med student, Kenedi has found her calling healing people's minds and bodies through medicine and discovered a passion for research. As such, she hopes to attend medical school to earn an MD-PhD in Microbiology and Immunology.

Kenedi has conducted research throughout her entire undergraduate career in multiple different areas. Her work as an Amgen Scholar at the prestigious institution The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine earned her the titles of Goldwater Scholar and Astronaut Scholar back in 2023. She completed an honors thesis on cerebellar cytokine expression during acute malaria infection in Dr. Christine Lattin's Neuroendocrinology and Behavior Lab at LSU, where she is currently collaborating to push out multiple publications. On the clinical side, Kenedi worked for over two years as a Recovery Coordinator at the Baton Rouge Regional Eye Bank where she helped restore the gift of sight to others. Kenedi is currently taking a gap year while applying to medical school and has temporarily relocated to the United Kingdom for a new adventure while pursuing her Master's degree there.

When she's not hard at work, Kenedi can be found playing volleyball and soccer, reading, writing, or watching her favorite television series.
